It flared along the nerve endings of his spine as he lay face-down on the soft mat and violet silken sheets that did nothing to calm it and lay in a churned heap around him. Sarriss breathed through clenched teeth, his eyes shut tight against the pain and he turned his head to the side, his spiky-styled, teal-grey-dyed hair brushing against the sheets as his did so.  The bare flesh of his athletic back was blistered and burnt, with the muscles around his shoulder blades twitching constantly. A pair of bony, charred, stumps protruded from his back between the shoulders wh
